Who We Are

Our Mission | Our Team | Our Services  |  Insurance & Payment

Idaho Nutrition Associates would like every individual to have access to a Registered Dietitian as part of their healthcare team providing counseling, coaching, and education to prevent and better manage health concerns and conditions through sound nutrition and lifestyle choices.

Why Choose an RD?

Registered Dietitians or Registered Dietitian-Nutritionists (RD/RDN) are highly trained nutrition professionals possessing the skills to consider a patient’s health history when making nutrition recommendations. We are a valued member of the healthcare team and possess the knowledge and skills to educate, counsel and support positive lifestyle changes for patients.

Every Registered Dietitian is a Nutritionist, but not every Nutritionist is a Registered Dietitian. The term "nutritionist", by itself, is not regulated which means those using it may not be qualified to give nutrition advice or have the expertise to consider their patient’s health issues when making recommendations.

An RD/RDN is required to hold a bachelor's degree from an accredited dietetics program, complete more than 1200 hours of direct patient care in an internship program, pass a comprehensive national exam, and complete at least 75 hours of continuing education every 5 years. Many RDs also hold advanced degrees and specialty certifications. In the state of Idaho, an RD/RDN must be licensed with the State Board of Medicine for the protection of the patients we serve.
